The dealer is unable to determine the cause of my Model 3 trunk leaking, which occurs only after heavy rain (over 4 inches). I plan to drive it to them with the trunk full of water to allow them to see the issue and fix it.
Have someone in the trunk with a flashlight and someone spraying the car with a garden hose. It might work to pinpoint the leak. It is just an idea, but it might work, even if it sounds stupid.
If you’re spotting a leak only when the rain’s coming down hard, it might be worth checking the seals around the taillights, they could be the culprit.
