Thinking of swapping my stock 20" wheels for 19" on my Model 3 AWD. Salesperson dismissed the idea saying Tesla doesn't recommend it for AWD Performance, but couldn't explain why. Anyone running 19" on their AWD Performance? Is it a clearance issue with the bigger brakes, or something else? Hoping to find some all-weather options that fit the 19" size!

First of all, idk why that guy is still even called a salesperson if he couldn't explain why. Second, I've seen some owners who switched to 19s, some even switched to 18s without any problems. So you should be good.

The switch to 19" wheels is a popular choice for people looking for better all-weather options or a smoother ride or just getting higher on the road. The issue with the Performance model is that some 19" wheels won’t clear the larger brake calipers. If you’re set on the upgrade, look for wheels specifically rated for the Performance trim, a lot of EV-friendly shops can guide you. Once you find the right fit, you’ll appreciate the improved tire and durability for rough roads or bad weather.
