Removing older Hansshow struts from 2018 Model 3 Trunk

Swapped to the latest Hansshow power trunk for my 2018 Model 3, but contemplating with the removal of the older struts! Got most things disconnected, but the bottom clips on the struts seem stuck because the new ones are slimmer. Anyone else done this upgrade?

Some people left the old struts in. If you take them out, be careful not to break the glass.

I haven't tried this myself, but I've heard a plastic pry tool can help pop those stuck clips loose. Just be gentle, you don't want to break anything. Maybe try some lube on the clips too, that might help loosen them up.

I heard that using a towel would help with not breaking the glass.
