I’ve noticed that the automatic headlights on my Model 3 aren’t turning on as they should. I’ve checked the settings and made sure the “Auto” option is selected, but they don’t seem to activate when it gets dark.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Is there a quick fix I’m missing, or does this sound like something I need to bring up with Tesla service?

A reboot often fixes these little hiccups. This could be a couple of things. Automatic headlights rely on sensors and cameras, so if those are obstructed or dirty, they might not function properly. Check the windshield, especially around the rearview mirror area, where some of the sensors are housed. If the issue isn’t physical, it might be software-related. A system reboot can sometimes resolve these bugs, but if it doesn’t, Tesla service can perform a diagnostic to identify the root cause.
