I use the Tesla App to preheat my cabin about 10 minutes before I leave, whether plugged in or not. But, I need to have cabin overheat protection activated for it to work. It usually takes 5 attempts, with the first 3 showing a "command timeout" error. Has anyone else experienced this, or know of a fix?

To fix this, try restarting the Tesla app and ensure both the app and your car’s software are up to date. If the issue persists, you might need to reset the car’s system..

Are your car and phone on the same Wi-Fi? That might be messing things up.

My car has Cabin Overheat always on, but it is not a requirement for remote start/heat. I think the app might be issued.

I haven't had any problems preheating or cooling my Tesla, except for a few times when it was slow to connect to my home Wi-Fi. That's not a Tesla issue, it's just my Wi-Fi being slow.

Otherwise, it works perfectly fine, whether I'm connected to cellular or not, and whether the car is plugged in or not.
