Hey there, quick question - anyone tried putting aftermarket handles above the driver and passenger doors inside their Model 3? It'd make hopping in a breeze for me. Any downsides I should watch out for if I go ahead and install them?

Interesting idea! I haven’t seen many people add aftermarket handles to a Model 3, but I can see how it’d help with getting in and out. One thing to watch out for is whether the installation involves drilling or adhesives. Drilling could impact the headliner or interfere with airbags, which might not be worth the risk. Adhesive-mounted handles might be a safer option. You’ll also want to avoid adding too much weight or tension to the headliner. A clean install might actually enhance convenience without compromising safety, good luck!

Someone has done it...

It looks... wow. Come on, man! That guy made his car look like an old phone cabin. At least the car is not red, haha! The idea is ok. The benefit of it is ok, but I think there should be another option. @HORHAY13, if you don't care too much about the look, then you can go the video's route.

Hey, I thought more about this post and the best would be to find a shop specializing in access gear for vehicles hoping you will find someone who would know what could you attach there. You also need to keep in mind that any bad addition to the car can interfere with the side curtain airbags contained within. I think this second reply of me would be more helpful. 😅
